The Bahraini Embassy in Muscat has issued an urgent advisory to Bahraini citizens residing in Oman, urging them to exercise extreme caution due to low-pressure weather expected to affect most governorates of the Sultanate. The embassy strongly advised all citizens to strictly adhere to safety guidelines issued by Omani authorities. In case of emergencies, Bahraini citizens living in Oman have been urged to contact the embassy immediately via the provided emergency phone numbers. Omani authorities have also issued warnings, emphasising the importance of continuously monitoring weather updates, particularly regarding cloud movement, wind speeds, and the potential for hail.

The low-pressure system, originating west of the Arabian Sea, is expected to move towards the southern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, indirectly impacting Oman. Official weather websites predict the low-pressure system will bring heavy cumulonimbus clouds, potentially resulting in thunderstorms with lightning and heavy rainfall. The UAE National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) reported that the low-pressure system in the Arabian Sea is expected to continue affecting Oman until Friday, October 17th. The NCM also noted the impact of both surface and upper-level low-pressure systems, with various cloud formations, including cumulonimbus clouds, and intermittent rainfall expected across various regions, beginning in eastern and northern areas and extending to some inland and western regions of the UAE.

Oman’s Meteorological Department has issued a severe weather warning, highlighting the continued risk of heavy thunderstorms in several areas including Muscat. The National Centre for Early Warning in Oman has warned of multiple risks associated with the continued potential for heavy thundery rainfall, accompanied by strong winds that could lead to flash floods in wadis (dry riverbeds). Bahraini citizens are advised to remain vigilant and prioritise their safety during this period of inclement weather. The severe weather warning is a reminder of the importance of monitoring weather updates, following safety guidelines, and being prepared for emergencies.

The advisory from the Bahraini Embassy in Muscat serves as a crucial reminder for its citizens in Oman to take necessary precautions and be aware of the potential risks associated with the looming low-pressure weather system. By urging citizens to stay informed and follow safety guidelines, the embassy is taking proactive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of Bahraini nationals living in Oman. Additionally, the coordination between Omani authorities and the embassy showcases a collaborative effort to protect residents from the adverse effects of severe weather conditions.

As countries across the region brace for the impact of the low-pressure system, it is essential for individuals to stay informed about weather updates and heed warnings from meteorological authorities. The potential for heavy thunderstorms and flash floods poses a significant risk to residents, especially those living in areas prone to flooding. By being vigilant and prepared, Bahraini citizens in Oman can mitigate the impact of the severe weather and protect themselves from potential harm. It is crucial for individuals to prioritize their safety and take necessary precautions to ensure their well-being during this challenging period.

In conclusion, the urgent advisory issued by the Bahraini Embassy in Muscat underscores the importance of preparedness and vigilance in the face of severe weather conditions. By working closely with Omani authorities and providing essential guidance to citizens, the embassy plays a crucial role in safeguarding the welfare of Bahraini nationals living in Oman. As the low-pressure system continues to affect the region, it is imperative for individuals to stay updated on weather developments and take proactive measures to protect themselves. By following safety protocols and remaining alert to potential risks, Bahraini citizens can navigate the challenges posed by inclement weather and ensure their safety and well-being.
