Qatar confirms strong support for political resolution to Libyan crisis

Minister of State H E Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz met with the Acting Head of UNSMIL H E Stephanie Khoury to discuss the latest developments in Libya. The aim of the meeting was to enhance the work of UNSMIL in order to achieve lasting peace and stability in the country. Qatar reaffirmed its support for a political solution in Libya, in line with relevant UN resolutions and peaceful solutions that preserve the country’s unity, stability, and sovereignty.

The meeting between H E Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz and H E Stephanie Khoury highlighted the importance of finding a political solution to the conflict in Libya. Qatar has consistently supported peaceful resolutions to conflicts and believes that a political solution is the best way to ensure lasting peace and stability in the country. The discussions focused on ways to enhance the work of UNSMIL in order to facilitate the peace process and support the Libyan people in their quest for stability and prosperity.
