Belarusian Prime Minister, Roman Golovchenko, recently visited the National Museum during his official trip to Oman. The guest and his delegation had the chance to explore the museum’s various halls showcasing the cultural heritage of Oman. One of the highlights of the visit was the Maritime History Hall, where Golovchenko learned about the Omani fleet during the reign of Sultan Said bin Sultan and saw artifacts from Vasco da Gama’s ship. Additionally, the Prime Minister toured halls focused on Oman’s history, including the Civilization Achievements Hall, the Aflaj Hall, and the “Greatness of Islam” Hall.

One of the significant aspects of Golovchenko’s visit was his exploration of the pavilion dedicated to the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimour, titled “The Dearest and Finest of Men.” In this pavilion, the Prime Minister viewed the original copy of “Message No. 1” addressed to the Royal Family Council and learned about the Al Busaidi Family timeline. Furthermore, he saw a collection of Royal possessions and notable gifts given to the late Sultan by leaders of brotherly and friendly countries. This experience offered Golovchenko a deeper insight into Oman’s rich history and its diplomatic relations with other nations.

After the National Museum, Golovchenko proceeded to visit the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM). During his tour of the opera house, the Prime Minister was able to explore the different wings, facilities, and state-of-the-art equipment used in international musical performances. He also received a briefing on the architectural design of ROHM, which incorporates elements of Omani cultural heritage alongside influences from various continents across the globe. This visit provided Golovchenko with a cultural appreciation of Oman’s commitment to the arts and its efforts to showcase international talent.

Overall, Golovchenko’s visit to the National Museum and the Royal Opera House Muscat offered him a comprehensive understanding of Oman’s history, culture, and artistic endeavors. Through exploring the museum’s halls and pavilions dedicated to the late Sultan Qaboos, the Belarusian Prime Minister gained valuable insights into the Sultanate’s past and its significant diplomatic ties. Additionally, his tour of the opera house highlighted Oman’s dedication to promoting the arts and hosting world-class musical performances. By immersing himself in Oman’s cultural offerings, Golovchenko deepened his appreciation for the country’s heritage and its contributions to the global cultural landscape.
