Proposal to plant a tree for every household

The Southern Governorate Municipal Council in Bahrain is working on an ambitious project to plant at least one tree per household in the governorate to improve the environment and quality of life for residents. They are also proposing to enhance green spaces and community facilities by submitting these ideas to the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture for approval. Another proposal by the council includes requesting a plot of land for the construction of a community events hall near Hisham Al Rayes Mosque in response to the population growth in the Al-Buhair area. They have also approved the allocation of land for a mosque in Block 913 of the sixth constituency to address the needs of local residents, especially the elderly who lack access to a nearby place of worship.

The council’s dedication to enhancing recreational opportunities is evident in their approval of a proposal to construct a recreational walkway in Block 913 in the Al Bukwarah area. This project, made possible by the recent removal of oil pipelines, aims to provide residents with a space for physical activity and leisure.
