In preparation for its third convening period, the Shura Council in Bahrain is gearing up to incorporate advanced AI technology to enhance legislative operations. The Secretary-General of the council, Karima Al Abbasi, announced this initiative during a meeting with officials in the General Secretariat. She highlighted the role played by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa in supporting the legislative process. The aim is to reshape the governance of Bahrain by drawing on the successes of previous digital efforts.

Under the guidance of Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, extensive preparations are being made to improve both administrative and technical capabilities to support legislative activities. This includes equipping departments to manage sessions, committee meetings, and provide legal and research assistance to council members. The introduction of advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence and digital tools, is set to streamline council functions, manage sessions, digitize reports, and maintain electronic records. These developments build on the council’s past achievements and will be expanded in the upcoming term.

In addition to incorporating AI technology, the preparations also include arrangements for media coverage, transportation, and safety measures to ensure smooth operations during the council’s activities. Al Abbasi emphasized that these preparations align with the constitutional and legal frameworks that govern the council’s work. As part of the General Secretariat’s strategic plan for 2024-2025, the focus remains on strengthening institutional support for legislative work, ensuring sustainability, and promoting excellence. Collaborative efforts between the Shura and Representatives Councils are already underway to organize the opening session, aimed at enhancing the legislative process.

The integration of advanced AI technology in the Shura Council’s operations marks a significant step towards modernizing Bahrain’s governance and legislative framework. With the support of key figures such as His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the council is poised to enhance its efficiency and effectiveness in serving the country. By leveraging digital tools to streamline functions, manage sessions, and digitize reports, the council aims to make significant progress in its legislative activities.

The extensive preparations being made under the guidance of Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh demonstrate a commitment to improving administrative and technical capabilities within the council. The introduction of advanced technologies like artificial intelligence signifies a shift towards more efficient and innovative legislative operations. By equipping departments to provide legal and research assistance to council members, the council is positioning itself to better serve the needs of Bahrain’s citizens and promote good governance.

In addition to technological advancements, the council is also focusing on enhancing media coverage, transportation, and safety measures to ensure smooth operations during its activities. These preparations, which align with the constitutional and legal frameworks governing the council’s work, are part of a broader strategy to strengthen institutional support for legislative work in Bahrain. By promoting collaboration between the Shura and Representatives Councils, the council is working towards enhancing the legislative process and upholding the democratic principles of the country.
