UAE’s Rayan Ahmed overcomes challenging weather conditions in Round 2 of Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship – News

Weather conditions during the second round of the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship caused delays, with only 12 out of 120 players completing their rounds. Rintaro Nakano from Japan leads the tournament at seven under par. First-round leader Randy Bintang has yet to start his second round, while UAE’s Rayan Ahmed is two over par after 15 holes. Ahmed shared his thoughts on his performance, noting a few mistakes that he hopes to improve upon in the upcoming rounds. The second round is set to resume on Saturday morning.

The Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship features representatives from various countries, with the top 60 players advancing to the weekend after 36 holes. The champion will receive invitations to prestigious events such as The Masters, The Open Championship, and The Amateur Championship in 2025. Runner-ups will have the chance to qualify for The Open Championship. The 2025 AAC will be hosted by the Emirates Golf Federation at Emirates Golf Club’s Majlis Course, offering a platform for young golfers to showcase their talent.

The challenging weather conditions affected play during the second round of the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship, resulting in delays and only 12 completed rounds out of 120 players.
