The Southern Municipal Council has unanimously approved a proposal to create new entrances and exits on Road 1713 in Bukuwara, West Riffa. The initiative, championed by Councilmember Ahmed Al Abdullah, aims to address the increasing traffic congestion in the area. The project is made possible by the recent removal of old oil pipelines and now awaits approval from the Minister of Municipalities following coordination with relevant authorities.

Councilmember Al Abdullah explained in a memorandum that adding new access points to Road 1713 will significantly improve traffic flow and accessibility for residents and road users, especially during peak hours. The area has seen rapid development with a surge in new buildings and businesses, leading to a dramatic increase in traffic volume. The infrastructure upgrade is essential to accommodate the growing demand and improve the overall transportation network in the area.

The removal of the old oil pipelines has provided the necessary space for construction, making the project more feasible. The initiative is in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, as it contributes to improved infrastructure, enhanced road networks, and a more aesthetically pleasing urban environment. The improved traffic flow will not only alleviate congestion but also contribute to creating a modern and attractive environment in Bukuwara, West Riffa.
