Drivers are being warned to be extra cautious as fog covers parts of the country on Friday. A red alert has been issued for Dubai and Abu Dhabi until 9am due to poor visibility in some areas. This is the third consecutive day that the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued fog alerts in the morning. These conditions are typical as the weather moves into autumn.

The NCM has advised road users to slow down and follow traffic instructions, especially in areas under the red and yellow alerts. The affected areas can be seen on a map provided by the NCM at 6.25am. Despite the foggy start to the day, the weather is expected to be clear and partly cloudy with the possibility of thick clouds forming in the afternoon, leading to increased humidity later in the day. The foggy conditions are likely to persist into Saturday morning.

Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 42 degrees Celsius in Abu Dhabi and 38 degrees Celsius in Dubai. Winds will be light to moderate, but may occasionally become active with speeds of up to 35kmph. Waves in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are expected to be light, providing calm conditions for maritime activities.

In conclusion, as fog blankets some areas of the country, drivers are urged to exercise caution on the roads. The NCM has issued red alerts for Dubai and Abu Dhabi due to poor visibility, with foggy conditions expected to continue into Saturday morning. While temperatures are set to rise, the overall weather is expected to be clear and partly cloudy. It is essential for road users to slow down and adhere to traffic instructions, particularly in areas under alerts, to ensure safety during these foggy conditions.
