Qatar dominates Singapore in the opening match of the AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers

Qatar kicked off their AFC U-20 Asian Cup China 2025 Qualifiers campaign with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Singapore at the Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium on September 25, 2024. The home side took the lead early on through Ibrahim Mohammadali’s goal in the ninth minute. Mohamed Khaled Gouda doubled the lead in the 20th minute, putting Singapore on the back foot going into halftime. Qatar continued their dominance in the second half, with Bassam Adel Eid scoring in the 54th minute to secure a comfortable win.

Meanwhile, Jordan showcased their attacking prowess with a convincing 7-0 victory over Hong Kong at the Grand Hamad Stadium in another Group J match. Odeh Burhan Fakhoury opened the scoring for Jordan in the 37th minute, followed by goals from Mahmoud Mohammad Theeb and Abdelrahman Alkhdour before halftime. In the second half, Jordan added to their tally with goals from Ibrahim Mohammad Sabra, Omar Khader Joo, Mohammad Ahmed Taha, and Anas Ashraf Alkhob.

The Group J games in Qatar will continue with Jordan facing Singapore and Qatar taking on Hong Kong in the upcoming fixtures. The top teams from each group, as well as the five best runners-up, will advance to the final tournament. Additionally, the 1985 champions China, who hosted the 2010 edition, will also join the qualifying teams in the tournament. Qatar will aim to maintain their winning momentum in the qualifiers as they look to secure a spot in the AFC U-20 Asian Cup China 2025.
