A new partnership between Shafallah Center and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Academy Qatar is bringing sports programs to people with disabilities to promote community sports integration. The agreement was signed by Maryam Saif Al Sowaidi, Executive Director of Shafallah Center, and Fabien Dilem, General Manager of PSG’s Regional Office. Al Sowaidi expressed her hope that this collaboration will strengthen the bond between Shafallah Center and private sector companies, praising PSG Academy Qatar for their support in empowering members through sports activities. The agreement aims to enhance community integration and provide athletic support to Shafallah Center members by offering free sports training under the guidance of specialized trainers.
Dilem highlighted the importance of inclusion and cohesion in promoting social integration and expressed PSG’s excitement to partner with Shafallah Center. He stated that the club has a long history of supporting children with unique backgrounds through the PSG Foundation in Paris, making this collaboration with Shafallah Center a natural fit. PSG Academy Qatar will offer training in various sports activities such as football and handball to the center’s members, with a focus on achieving social, personal, and psychological goals throughout the program.
Al Sowaidi emphasized the importance of prioritizing the health, security, and safety of Shafallah Center’s members during the implementation of the sports program. She outlined the training schedule, with members scheduled for two sessions per week lasting 45-60 minutes each, starting in September of each year. PSG Academy Qatar will also provide members with complete training kits in the official colors of the club as part of the partnership. The center will launch an evening program for members interested in participating in sports activities, offering free training to a select number of individuals. Additionally, both parties will collaborate to provide specialized training courses for their trainers to enhance their skills and capabilities.
