Msheireb Museums in Doha, Qatar, has announced its latest humanitarian initiative: a group art exhibition called “For the Children of Gaza.” This event aims to raise awareness and funds for children affected by the ongoing crisis in Gaza. The exhibition will be held from September 25 to October 19, 2024, at Bin Jelmood House, one of the most iconic cultural venues in Msheireb Museums. The exhibition is open to the public daily with free admission and builds upon Msheireb’s commitment to using art for social change.

The exhibition is curated by artist Bachir Mohamad and centers around 100 sculptures from the “Echo of Lost Innocence” installation. Additionally, works from 54 talented local and international artists will be displayed to support the children of Gaza. Prominent figures such as Yousef Ahmad, Wafika Sultan, and Mohammed Alhamadi from Qatar, as well as international talents including Hassan Manasrah and Kholoud Kassab from Palestine, have contributed to the exhibition.

General Manager of Msheireb Museums Abdulla Al Naama emphasized the institution’s ongoing commitment to using art to transform lives and elevate important global causes. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to convene a group of extraordinary artists whose work reflects human creativity and sheds light on the struggles faced by Gaza’s children. Participating artists shared their perspectives on the exhibition’s significance, with Yousef Ahmad from Qatar stating that art has the power to convey emotions and truths that words cannot, offering a platform to bring attention to the dark realities faced by Gaza’s children.

The exhibition “For the Children of Gaza” represents a collective call to action from a diverse group of artists who have donated pieces of their work to support a better future for Gaza’s children. The event aims to highlight the beauty of human creativity while bringing attention to the ongoing crisis in Gaza. By showcasing works that depict the impact of war on children and the resilience they exhibit, the exhibition aims to inspire change and support for those affected by the conflict.

Msheireb Museums continues to be a prominent advocate for using art as a means of social change, with this exhibition serving as a powerful example of the impact that art can have on raising awareness and funds for important global causes.
