Foreign trucks entering or exiting Saudi Arabia are now required to settle any transportation violations before proceeding, according to new regulations set by the Transport General Authority (TGA). These regulations were created in collaboration with relevant authorities and aim to govern foreign truck operations within the Kingdom. In addition to settling any violations, foreign trucks must obtain an electronic transport document for every shipment entering Saudi Arabia through the bayan.logisti.sa platform. They are also restricted to transporting goods only on the return trip from the arrival point or other cities along the return route. Furthermore, foreign trucks must adhere to the same terms and conditions for transportation as national carriers and are not permitted to enter into contracts for transporting goods between Saudi cities. These regulations are designed to promote fair competition, ensure compliance with transportation laws, and enhance the sustainability of the logistics sector.

Compliance with the newly implemented regulations is crucial for foreign truck operators in Saudi Arabia, as failing to do so could lead to penalties and fines. By settling any transportation violations before entering or exiting the Kingdom and obtaining the necessary electronic transport documents, foreign trucks can avoid disruptions to their operations and maintain compliance with the regulations. It is also essential for foreign truck operators to limit the transportation of goods to the return trip from the arrival point or other cities along the return route, as this restriction helps to regulate the flow of goods and prevent illegal practices. By following these regulations, foreign truck operators can contribute to promoting fair competition, enhancing road safety, and supporting the sustainability of the logistics sector in Saudi Arabia.

In addition to promoting fair competition and compliance with transportation laws, the regulations set by the Transport General Authority aim to create a favorable investment environment and reduce illegal practices in the logistics sector. By prohibiting foreign trucks from contracting for the transportation of goods between Saudi cities and enforcing weight limits, the regulations help to ensure a level playing field for all truck operators and prevent unfair practices. Furthermore, by supporting environmental sustainability and preserving infrastructure, the regulations contribute to the overall development and growth of the logistics sector in Saudi Arabia. Foreign truck operators play a crucial role in the transportation of goods within the Kingdom, and by adhering to these regulations, they can contribute to the sector’s long-term sustainability and success.

Overall, the regulations set by the Transport General Authority for foreign truck operations in Saudi Arabia are designed to promote fair competition, ensure compliance with transportation laws, and enhance the sustainability of the logistics sector. By settling transportation violations, obtaining electronic transport documents, and adhering to the restrictions on transporting goods, foreign truck operators can comply with the regulations and avoid penalties. These regulations also aim to create a favorable investment environment, reduce illegal practices, enhance road safety, preserve infrastructure, and support environmental sustainability in the logistics sector. Foreign truck operators play a vital role in the transportation of goods within the Kingdom, and by following these regulations, they can contribute to the sector’s growth and development while promoting fair competition and compliance with transportation laws.
