The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Saudi Arabia has issued a warning to the public to exercise caution and seek safety in secure areas away from flood-prone regions as thunderstorms are set to bring continued rainfall across different parts of the Kingdom. The statement emphasized that the Makkah region is expected to experience moderate to heavy rains, which could result in flash floods, hail, and strong winds that may stir up dust and debris, primarily affecting areas such as Taif, Maysan, Adham, and Al-Arediyat. In addition to this, light to moderate rainfall is also forecasted in Mecca, Al-Jumum, Al-Khurmah, Turbah, Rania, Al-Muwayh, Al-Lith, and Al-Qunfudhah.

The Civil Defense also highlighted that the regions of Al-Baha, Asir, and Jazan will likely face moderate to heavy rainfall, while the Najran area is expected to experience moderate rain. The Directorate emphasized the importance of following safety instructions that are being disseminated through various media outlets and social media platforms to ensure the well-being of the public during this period of intense weather conditions. The warning comes ahead of a week where thunderstorms are expected to bring significant rainfall across the country, creating potentially dangerous situations in flood-prone areas and valleys.

The General Directorate of Civil Defense’s warning is particularly crucial as the Kingdom prepares for continued rainfall from Monday through Friday, with thunderstorms likely to cause disruptions and pose risks to residents in different regions. The emphasis on seeking safety in secure areas away from flood-prone zones and valleys underscores the importance of taking proactive measures to protect oneself from potential harm. With the possibility of flash floods, hail, and strong winds, it is essential for individuals to stay informed about weather updates and adhere to safety guidelines to minimize risks and ensure their safety during this period of inclement weather.

In the statement issued by the Civil Defense, specific regions were highlighted as being at higher risk of experiencing moderate to heavy rainfall, including the Makkah region, where flash floods are a significant concern. The areas of Taif, Maysan, Adham, and Al-Arediyat are expected to be particularly affected by the intense weather conditions, necessitating caution and preparation to mitigate the impact of the storms. Additionally, other regions such as Al-Baha, Asir, Jazan, and Najran have been advised to expect moderate to heavy rainfall, prompting residents to stay vigilant and follow safety instructions to stay safe.

As the Kingdom braces for a week of unpredictable weather patterns, the General Directorate of Civil Defense’s warning serves as a reminder for the public to prioritize safety and take necessary precautions to avoid potential dangers associated with thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. By staying informed about weather forecasts, seeking shelter in secure areas, and adhering to safety guidelines disseminated through various channels, individuals can protect themselves and their communities from the risks posed by inclement weather conditions. The proactive approach urged by the Civil Defense highlights the importance of preparedness and awareness in ensuring the well-being of all residents during periods of extreme weather.
