In a thrilling day of football in the Ooredoo Stars League (OSL), Al Wakrah secured a crucial 2-0 victory over Al Rayyan, thanks to goals from Gelson Dala and Ricardo Gomes in the first half. Mohammed Albakri’s exceptional goalkeeping also played a significant role in the win for Al Wakrah. This victory helped them climb to fifth in the league standings with superior goal difference.

During the same matchday, Youssef Msakani rescued Al Arabi with a last-gasp goal to secure a 3-3 draw against Al Ahli. Despite the thrilling comeback, Al Arabi remains winless in the league, currently sitting at ninth place with four points. Al Gharafa, on the other hand, recorded a 3-1 victory over Qatar SC, with goals from Ahmed Al Ganehi, Yacine Brahimi, and Joselu. This win propelled Al Gharafa to fourth place in the league standings with eight points.

In Al Wakrah’s match against Al Rayyan, coach Ali Rahma Al Marri led his team to an impressive performance at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium. Gelson Dala opened the scoring early in the eighth minute with a powerful shot from outside the box. Ricardo Gomes then doubled the lead with a header off a cross from Abdelkarim Hassan. Al Wakrah’s defense, led by goalkeeper Mohammed Albakri, stood strong throughout the match, denying Al Rayyan multiple scoring opportunities.

Despite Al Rayyan’s efforts to stage a comeback in the second half, they struggled to break through Al Wakrah’s defense. Albakri made phenomenal saves, including stopping a powerful free kick from Mahmoud Ahmed Hassan. Al Rayyan’s only shot on target in the first half came late in the match, with Al Wakrah’s strong defensive display securing the 2-0 victory. The Lions now find themselves in eighth place on the league table with six points.

At the Al Thumama Stadium, Al Arabi and Al Ahli played out an exhilarating 3-3 draw. Ahmed Alaaeldin scored two goals for Al Arabi, while Sekou Yansane and Julian Draxler found the net for Al Ahli. However, it was Youssef Msakani’s last-minute goal that salvaged a point for Al Arabi. The draw leaves Al Arabi still searching for their first win in the OSL, currently placed ninth in the league standings.

In another fixture, Al Gharafa secured a 3-1 victory over Qatar SC at the Khalifa International Stadium. Ahmed Al Ganehi opened the scoring for Al Gharafa, followed by Yacine Brahimi’s converted penalty. Although Sebastian Soria pulled one back for Qatar SC, Joselu sealed the win for Al Gharafa in the 72nd minute. This victory lifted Al Gharafa to fourth place in the league standings with eight points, while Qatar SC languishes in 11th place, just above bottom-placed Al Shahania.
