Mannoor Café, established in the 1940s by Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi in Ras Al Khaimah, is a beloved community hub that has stood the test of time. Originally named Umm Shirbak Café, it has evolved into a cultural institution under the ownership of Abdulla Mohammed Kandar Al Ahmed. The café is renowned for its signature drink, Mannoor tea, a delicious blend of Sanjini and Slaimani tea that has remained unchanged over the years, symbolizing the cafe’s trademark.

Over the years, Mannoor Café has become more than just a place for tea; it is a gathering spot where Ras Al Khaimah residents come together to connect and share stories. In the early days, it served as a meeting place for residents before they went about their daily errands. With the introduction of the gramophone and later the radio, the café also played a crucial role in fostering national awareness, sparking discussions on important national and regional issues and building a sense of community and unity among locals.

Today, Mannoor Café continues to uphold its legacy as a community hub, welcoming visitors from local schools, the surrounding community, and tourists. By sharing its rich history and heritage, the café creates a bridge between the past and present, offering visitors a deeper appreciation for its enduring legacy. It remains a popular spot for loyal customers, some of whom visit straight from the airport or stop by every day on their way home from work, demonstrating the strong bond between the café and its patrons.

Looking ahead, Abdulla expressed his commitment to preserving the café’s legacy and serving the people of Ras Al Khaimah. He views the café as a national meeting place and a trust that must be upheld with loyalty and dedication. As Mannoor Café continues to thrive as a symbol of community and tradition, it remains a cherished landmark in Ras Al Khaimah’s cultural landscape. The café’s enduring legacy and commitment to its customers ensure its continued success and importance in the community for years to come.
