Qatar is gearing up to participate in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, with a focus on achieving a set of important goals. The Director of International Organizations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H E Sheikha Hanouf bint Abdulrahman Al Thani, highlighted the country’s objectives for the upcoming meetings. These include contributing to international efforts to address global challenges, reforming the United Nations, supporting brotherly peoples, combating terrorism, promoting peace through mediation, and strengthening strategic partnerships with the United Nations.

Qatar aims to play an active role in developing basic mechanisms and systems to tackle global challenges, as well as finding innovative solutions within the framework of international solidarity. The country also advocates for activating international responsibility in response to governments that commit international crimes, such as the Israeli attack on the Palestinian people. Qatar places great importance on supporting brotherly peoples in the region and addressing humanitarian crises through its participation in the United Nations.

Qatar is committed to combating terrorism and violent extremism in all its forms, with a focus on using sports and its values as a tool to prevent violent extremism.
