Omanis in China safe during Typhoon Bebinca, embassy confirms

The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in China has confirmed the safety and health of all Omani citizens residing in Shanghai and nearby provinces after Typhoon Bebinca. The embassy has urged Omani citizens to exercise caution and follow the precautionary measures implemented by the local Chinese authorities. Typhoon Bebinca, the strongest to hit Shanghai since 1949, caused flooding, power outages, and injuries to at least one person in the financial hub on Monday, September 16, 2024. Over 414,000 people were evacuated prior to the typhoon’s arrival, with schools closed and residents advised to stay indoors.

The embassy assured that all Omani citizens in Shanghai and neighboring provinces were in good health and safety amidst the extreme weather conditions caused by Typhoon Bebinca.
