Sharjah Safari, the world’s largest safari outside Africa, is preparing to launch its fourth season on September 23. With over 300 new animal and bird additions this year, the safari promises visitors an exceptional experience that blends entertainment, learning, and exploration. Through these additions, the success of Sharjah’s biodiversity preservation efforts is showcased, providing visitors with the rare opportunity to witness young animals with their mothers, fostering a deeper connection to nature and the life cycle.
Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) in Sharjah, emphasized that the safari reflects the vision of Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi in prioritizing environmental care and wildlife conservation. The safari spans 12 diverse environments inspired by different regions of Africa, covering 8 square kilometers. Housing over 50,000 animals from more than 120 species, Sharjah Safari offers visitors a glimpse into the unique landscapes and ecosystems of the continent.
The safari timings range from 8.30am to 6pm, with various ticket packages available including Gold, Silver, and Bronze options. Each ticket type offers different levels of entertainment services, ensuring that all visitors can find a package that suits their needs and expectations. Additionally, there are private tour options available for those looking for a more personalized experience.
Visitors are encouraged to come prepared with essentials such as a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, comfortable walking shoes, binoculars, camera, and a reusable water bottle. Dining facilities are available in Zanzibar Village and Safari Camp, offering a wide selection of fresh, hot, and cold food and drinks for visitors to enjoy during their visit.
This season, Sharjah Safari invites visitors on an immersive journey through diverse environments that replicate Africa’s natural habitats. From expansive plains to lush tropical forests, guests will encounter a variety of wild animals in settings that closely resemble their natural homes, creating a deeper connection to wildlife and their habitats. Family-friendly programs, including interactive animal shows and awareness workshops, are also available to enhance environmental awareness and highlight the importance of wildlife conservation.
The previous season of Sharjah Safari introduced many enhancements to its African bird and animal shows, showcasing their natural behaviors in an engaging setting. Visitors enjoyed an adventure through diverse landscapes, including wetlands, canyons, valleys, small lakes, waterfalls, rocky mountains, and expansive African terrain. The safari also featured rare and diverse African trees and shrubs, offering guests a journey filled with fun and excitement.
