Omani and Iraqi officials discuss historic relations in politics, economy, and trade

The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Iraq have a long history of strong relations, as emphasized during a recent political talks session in Muscat. The Omani Foreign Minister and the Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed areas of cooperation in political, economic, trade and cultural fields. They also touched upon regional and international issues of mutual interest, including the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the resulting escalation in the region.

The two ministers reaffirmed their support for peaceful approaches and efforts to enhance regional and international security and stability through adherence to international law, respect for international legitimacy, and principles of justice. The meeting was attended by officials from both sides, reflecting the commitment of both countries to deepening their ties and working together towards common goals.

The meeting in Muscat was an opportunity for the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Iraq to strengthen their partnership and explore ways to further enhance their cooperation in various areas. This includes political, economic, trade, and cultural exchanges, which can benefit both countries and their peoples.

The discussion of regional and international issues during the talks highlighted the importance of addressing challenges such as the recent Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. The two ministers emphasized the need for peaceful resolutions and the promotion of security and stability in the region, in line with international law and principles of justice.

Both Oman and Iraq are committed to supporting efforts aimed at fostering peace and security in the region, as well as respecting international norms and principles. The officials from both sides attending the talks demonstrated the shared commitment of the two countries to working together towards common goals and strengthening their ties for the benefit of both nations.

Overall, the political talks in Muscat between Oman and Iraq underscored the long-standing friendship and cooperation between the two countries. The discussions covered a wide range of issues and highlighted the mutual interests of both sides in enhancing their partnership and working together to address regional and international challenges in a concerted and peaceful manner.
