Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced during the inauguration of the 4th Global Renewable Energy Investor’s Meet in Gandhinagar that over 1.3 crore families have registered for the PM Solar Rooftop Scheme since its launch. He also mentioned that installation work has been completed at 3.75 lakh homes, showing significant progress in the implementation of the scheme. The PM highlighted the benefits of the scheme, stating that it not only generates electricity for families but also provides them with an additional income of Rs 25,000 annually by selling excess electricity back to the grid.

PM Modi emphasized the potential for employment generation through the PM Solar Rooftop Scheme, suggesting that it could create around 20 lakh job opportunities. He mentioned that the scheme has the capacity to make every home in India a power producer, indicating the widespread impact it could have on the country’s energy landscape. The three-day conference, hosted by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, is expected to attract over 10,000 delegates from various sectors, signaling the importance of renewable energy in the current global context.

Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi, along with several Chief Ministers including Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu, Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Kumar Yadav, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai, and Goa CM Pramod Sawant, were present at the event. The participation of these dignitaries reflects the government’s commitment to promoting renewable energy and creating a sustainable future for India. The PM Solar Rooftop Scheme has already made a significant impact by providing families with an opportunity to generate income while contributing to the country’s clean energy goals.

In conclusion, the PM Solar Rooftop Scheme has garnered widespread interest and participation from families across India, with over 1.3 crore registrations so far. The scheme has not only facilitated the installation of solar panels at thousands of homes but also provided families with a financial incentive to generate and sell excess electricity. PM Modi’s emphasis on the scheme’s potential to create green jobs and transform every home into a power producer underscores the government’s commitment to promoting renewable energy. The ongoing conference in Gandhinagar is expected to further showcase the importance of renewable energy in India’s development trajectory and highlight the role of innovative schemes like the PM Solar Rooftop Scheme in driving sustainable growth.
