Healthcare Simulation Week is a global initiative celebrated annually from September 15 to 19, highlighting the importance of simulation in improving patient safety and enhancing clinical skills. Hamad Medical Corporation’s Itqan Clinical Simulation and Innovation Center (Itqan) in Doha, Qatar, is taking part in this event by organizing activities under the theme “Launchpad to Legacy: What’s Your Next?” to showcase the transformative power of simulation in healthcare education and its role in shaping the future of medicine.

Dr. Abdulla Yousuf, the Acting Executive Director of Itqan, emphasizes the significance of simulation as a bridge between theory and practice, where knowledge is transformed into skill and excellence. Itqan is hosting a one-day booth at Qatar University, engaging with students and faculty to highlight the vital role of simulation in healthcare education. The center is also participating in Qatar National Patient Safety Week to promote its initiatives and advancements in simulation technology.

Itqan offers hands-on simulation workshops that replicate real-life medical scenarios, allowing participants to experience clinical practice in a supportive and controlled environment. This immersive approach not only equips healthcare providers with the skills they need to excel but also inspires the next generation of medical professionals to pursue careers in the field. Over the past two years, Itqan has hosted more than 5,000 students from approximately 70 schools, increasing interest in healthcare professions through its partnership with the Health Profession Awareness Program (HPAP).

The goal of Healthcare Simulation Week is to drive the healthcare simulation field forward by promoting collaboration among individuals and organizations. Itqan invites policymakers, educators, and other stakeholders to join them in advancing the field of healthcare simulation, improving patient outcomes, and ensuring that Qatar remains at the forefront of medical innovation. By showcasing the transformative power of simulation in healthcare education, Itqan aims to inspire healthcare professionals to strive for excellence and contribute to the continuous improvement of patient care.

Simulation plays a vital role in improving patient safety, enhancing clinical skills, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among healthcare professionals. Itqan’s participation in Healthcare Simulation Week highlights its commitment to promoting the use of simulation technology in healthcare education and training. By organizing activities under the theme “Launchpad to Legacy: What’s Your Next?”, Itqan aims to showcase the transformative power of simulation in shaping the future of medicine and inspiring the next generation of medical professionals.

In conclusion, Healthcare Simulation Week is a global initiative that celebrates the importance of simulation in healthcare education and training. Itqan Clinical Simulation and Innovation Center in Doha, Qatar, is actively participating in this event to showcase the transformative power of simulation in improving patient outcomes and advancing the field of healthcare simulation. Through hands-on workshops and partnerships with educational programs, Itqan is inspiring healthcare professionals to strive for excellence and contribute to the continuous improvement of patient care in Qatar and beyond.
