Divers from the Marine Rescue Division at Dubai Ports Police recently salvaged a sedan that plunged off a dockside in Al Jaddaf area, Bur Dubai. The car skidded off the pier, crashing into a parked yacht, causing it to overturn and sink into the sea. Fortunately, the two young men inside managed to escape through the shattered windshield. The incident was reported to the Command and Control Centre, and marine rescue patrols swiftly responded to ensure the safety of the occupants.

Col Ali Abdullah Al Naqbi, Deputy Director of the Ports Police Station, confirmed that the young men were rescued, and no other individuals were found inside the vehicle. The marine rescue divers assessed the car’s position and secured it with ropes before using a recovery crane to bring it back onto the dockside. Captain Abdul Rahman Bourguiba emphasized the importance of vehicle maintenance and safe driving practices to prevent such accidents in the future.

It is crucial for motorists to regularly check their vehicles and adhere to traffic laws and regulations. Captain Bourguiba also encouraged the public to contact the General Department of Operations in case of emergencies and to utilize the ‘Sail Safely’ service for reporting marine incidents promptly. Following safety measures and being cautious on the road can help prevent similar mishaps from occurring in the future.

By maintaining vehicles properly and driving responsibly, individuals can contribute to safer roads and reduce the risk of accidents. The Marine Rescue Division’s swift response to the incident highlights the importance of being prepared for emergencies. By following safety protocols and taking necessary precautions, both motorists and marine users can ensure their well-being and avoid dangerous situations on the road and at sea.
