The Ministry of Social Development in collaboration with the Executive Office of the Council of Ministers of Labour and the Council of Ministers of Social Affairs within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has launched the Excellence and Creativity Award for Persons with Disabilities. This initiative aims to recognize and honor the outstanding achievements of individuals with disabilities, as well as encourage efforts that support their empowerment and foster greater community awareness and integration. His Excellency Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, commended the Executive Office for its role in advancing Gulf cooperation in social development.

The award is part of the National Strategy for Persons with Disabilities, which focuses on safeguarding their rights and providing necessary support. It serves as a testament to the Gulf States’ belief in the capabilities and creativity of persons with disabilities. The award provides a platform for individuals with disabilities to showcase their contributions, encouraging them to overcome challenges and achieve excellence. It aims to appreciate both the creative achievements of individuals with disabilities and the efforts of supporting entities, reinforcing community partnership and highlighting pioneering contributions in social care and development.

By celebrating innovation and developmental initiatives, the Excellence and Creativity Award for Persons with Disabilities will help unleash the potential of empowerment and support ongoing social contributions. The award seeks to inspire individuals with disabilities to strive for excellence and contribute to society in meaningful ways, while also recognizing the efforts of organizations and entities that support them.
