After nearly four decades of bureaucratic turmoil, a Bahraini civil court has finally ordered the issuance of a death certificate for a man who passed away during Hajj in Saudi Arabia in 1985. The family had been struggling with administrative delays and hurdles in obtaining the necessary documentation for years. Despite countless efforts and trips between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, they faced endless obstacles that left them in limbo. However, with the court’s decision, the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has been instructed to issue the long-awaited certificate.

The family’s lawyer, Issa Jassim, had to pursue legal action with the support of the Ministry of Interior to push the Directorate of Passports, Nationality, and Residence, as well as the iGA, to issue the document. The Committee of Names and Titles reviewed witness statements and found no reason to block the certificate’s release, leading to the court siding with their findings and ordering the authorities to act without delay. This decision has finally paved the way for the family to settle various legal matters, such as inheritance proceedings and the distribution of property, vehicles, and gold.

The court’s decision was in accordance with Decree Law No. 26 of 2000, particularly Article 7, which deals with matters related to names and titles. The committee ruled in favor of the family after verifying the request’s legitimacy. While the plaintiff is responsible for legal costs under Article 196 of the Civil and Commercial Procedures Law, the family is relieved that these expenses are minimal compared to the significance of finally having the man’s death officially recognized. This recognition will allow them to move forward with the necessary legal proceedings and bring closure to a long and exhausting ordeal.

The issuance of the death certificate marks the end of a chapter of uncertainty and frustration for the family, who have been waiting for this closure for over three decades. The legal battle and bureaucratic obstacles they faced highlight the challenges that families can encounter in dealing with administrative processes, especially when they involve multiple countries. Despite the hurdles, the perseverance of the family, along with the support of their lawyer and the Ministry of Interior, has finally paid off, leading to a resolution that will bring much-needed relief and clarity to their situation.

This case sheds light on the importance of having clear and efficient processes in place for handling legal matters and documentation, especially when they involve cross-border issues. It also underscores the significance of legal assistance and support in navigating complex administrative procedures. With the court’s decision and the issuance of the death certificate, the family can now move forward with confidence in resolving their legal affairs and honoring the memory of their loved one who passed away so many years ago.

In conclusion, the long-awaited issuance of the death certificate for the man who passed away during Hajj in 1985 in Saudi Arabia is a significant milestone for his family, bringing an end to years of bureaucratic turmoil and administrative hurdles. The court’s decision, supported by the Ministry of Interior and the family’s lawyer, has finally allowed the family to settle legal matters and move forward with their lives. This case serves as a reminder of the importance of efficient and clear processes in handling legal documentation and the valuable role that legal assistance plays in navigating complex administrative procedures. With the issuance of the death certificate, the family can now find closure and resolution after a long and exhausting ordeal.
