Abu Dhabi: Experience a Driving Simulator and Learn about Road Safety from Robots

Abu Dhabi Police have introduced robots to educate the public about traffic laws and increase safety awareness. The robots will be hitting the road to provide important information to residents. Additionally, the police have installed a driving simulator that uses virtual reality to give users an experience similar to driving a car, including braking and steering, as well as displaying digital awareness videos through CGI technology on a rear-view screen.

The digital traffic patrol initiative also involves home visits to educate private drivers, domestic workers, parents, and community members on how to safely handle children in vehicles and on the road. This comprehensive approach aims to promote adherence to rules and regulations among different road users, including drivers, students, and families. Various activities such as lectures, gift-giving, and brochure distribution will be organised as part of the campaign to enhance traffic education and safety.

Major Ahmed Abdullah Al-Mhairi, Director of the Digital Traffic Awareness Project, emphasised the importance of providing proactive services that align with governmental and future trends in Abu Dhabi. The Digital Traffic Education Patrol will play a crucial role in raising awareness about traffic laws and fostering a culture of safety on the roads. With school in session, the initiative also aims to educate drivers on how to safely transport children and ensure their well-being while travelling.

In addition to the robots and driving simulator, the police will organise lectures, distribute educational materials, and engage with the community to promote safe driving practices. These efforts reflect the commitment of Abu Dhabi Police to ensuring the safety and well-being of all road users. By leveraging technology and innovative educational tools, the police aim to make a positive impact on road safety and reduce traffic accidents in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Overall, the Digital Traffic Education Patrol represents a proactive approach to traffic safety education and awareness in Abu Dhabi. By utilising robots, driving simulators, and digital tools, the police are taking significant steps to educate the public about traffic laws and promote safe driving practices. Through a combination of educational initiatives, community engagement, and technological advancements, the police are working towards creating a safer road environment for residents and visitors in the emirate. By focusing on education and awareness, Abu Dhabi Police are paving the way for a more secure and responsible driving culture in the region.
