The fall season is the best time for UAE residents to book holiday trips as they can save up to 45 per cent compared to other dates. According to international travel brand Expedia, travellers are advised to book their flights at least a month before their planned trip to take advantage of the savings. Residents who searched for trips between mid-October and mid-November saved close to 45 per cent and the money saved can be spent on top destinations like London, which has seen a significant increase in searches compared to last year.
Domestically, tourists are opting for the northern emirates as they are attracted to cooler temperatures and the desire to escape the busy cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Ras Al Khaimah has seen an impressive 85 per cent increase in searches compared to last fall, with attractions like the Maldives-inspired Anantara Mina Al Arab offering a unique experience set against the backdrop of the Hajar Mountains and serene mangrove lagoons.
International hotspots like Paris, New York, and Singapore have also seen an increase in searches as UAE residents continue to explore these popular destinations. Islands across the Mediterranean Sea such as Ibiza, Pattaya, and Mykonos are expected to attract more UAE residents, while some are considering travelling to Chicago and Boston for cooler climates.
To get the best travel deals, Expedia recommends booking flights at least a month before the trip, which can save an average of Dh2,470 compared to booking last-minute. Thursday is the least expensive day for hotel stays in the fall, and booking flights on specific dates like October 13, 18, or 22 can slash prices in half compared to other dates in the same month. Overall, planning ahead and booking early can help travellers save money on their holiday trips.
