Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the GEA, highlighted the importance of this agreement in launching projects that will focus on film, fashion, and music industries, contributing to the overall objectives of Vision 2030.
The first track of this partnership aims to support producers working in Al-Hosn Studios, a new zone of the Riyadh Season, by enhancing cooperation between the Film Commission and strategic partner, Sela. This includes streamlining licensing procedures, fostering participation in the Film Commission’s production support program, and establishing the commission’s office at the studio complex. This collaboration is expected to boost the film industry in Saudi Arabia and create new opportunities for filmmakers.
The second track of the agreement focuses on supporting the Ministry of Culture by sponsoring a major fashion event called “1000 Seasons” at Riyadh Season. This event, held in partnership with renowned designer Elie Saab in The Venue area, will take place in November. This initiative aims to showcase Saudi talent in the fashion industry and promote cultural exchange through fashion events that align with the goals of Vision 2030.
The third track of the collaboration aims to develop the Saudi oud manufacturing sector through Riyadh Season’s initiative to promote the production of the Saudi oud. This project will support traditional crafts and musical arts in the Kingdom, contributing to the preservation of cultural heritage and promoting local talent within the music industry. By focusing on the oud, a traditional instrument in Saudi culture, this collaboration seeks to revitalize musical traditions in the country.
The fourth track of the agreement focuses on enhancing the strategic partnership between the Music Commission and Merwas Studio to establish it as a global hub for music production and recording. This collaboration aims to foster national musical talent, attract international artists, and showcase Saudi Arabia as a destination for music production. By investing in music infrastructure and talent development, this partnership aims to position Saudi Arabia as a leading player in the global music industry.
Overall, the collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and the GEA signifies a significant step towards achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. By focusing on film, fashion, and music industries, this partnership aims to enhance cultural exchange, support local talent, and promote economic growth in Saudi Arabia. Through joint projects and initiatives, the Ministry of Culture and the GEA are working towards creating a vibrant cultural scene that contributes to the overall development of the Kingdom.
