The Philippine missions in the UAE have released guidelines for Filipinos seeking amnesty, including those who are in need of a replacement for lost passports. Applicants who absconded from their employers can inquire at either the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai to find out if their passports were surrendered and are still available for collection. If the passport is not among those surrendered to the embassy or consulate, the applicant must file a police report and request a lost passport certificate. This can be done through the Dubai Police website or mobile application, or at the police station with jurisdiction over the area where the visa was issued.

To complete the application for a replacement passport, applicants must appear in person with several required documents, including a photocopy of the first page of the lost passport, a birth certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), a valid ID with three photocopies, an affidavit of loss, and a police report with an English translation. The cost for a replacement passport is Dh600, with an additional Dh100 for the affidavit of loss document. For minors or those renewing expired passports, more information can be found on the Philippine Consulate website.

If applicants are unable to secure a new passport within the amnesty period, they can apply for a travel document in lieu of the lost or expired passport. This document will enable them to travel while they wait for a new passport to be issued. It is essential for individuals to stay informed and up to date with the latest news and guidelines regarding the amnesty process. Following the guidelines provided by the Philippine missions can help streamline the process and ensure a smooth application for those seeking amnesty in the UAE. The missions are dedicated to assisting Filipinos during this challenging time and providing the necessary support for those in need of passport replacements.
