The daily Tribune reported that the Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) held its Ninth event of Thirst Quenchers 2024 at a worksite in Bahrain Bay. This annual summer awareness program aims to promote a healthy and safe working environment for workers during the scorching months of July and August, aligning with the Ministry of Labour’s initiative. The program has distributed bottled water, Laban, and fruits to workers at their worksites, focusing on those most affected by the intense summer heat. Approximately 170 workers received items such as water bottles, juice, oranges, apples, and bananas, along with flyers containing emergency contact numbers.

The initiative saw the participation of Mr. Mohamed Al Aswad from LMRA and Ms. Shahlaa Badawy from IOM, who aided in the distribution of items to the workers. The Bohra community and generous volunteers have consistently shown strong support for the project in previous years, highlighting the unity and commitment towards the cause. Additionally, BCICAI’s CSR team also contributed to support the program, further emphasizing the importance of community involvement in such initiatives. The ICRF Thirst-Quenchers team plans to continue conducting these weekly events for the next two weeks to ensure ongoing support for workers in need.

In light of the sweltering summer weather in Bahrain, the ICRF’s Thirst Quenchers 2024 program serves as a vital resource for workers in maintaining hydration and staying safe while working in challenging conditions. By distributing essential items such as water, juice, and fruits, the program aims to alleviate the impact of the intense heat on workers, ensuring their well-being and health during this period. The involvement of government officials and community members in the initiative underscores the collective effort to provide support and assistance to those most vulnerable to the effects of the summer heat.

The collaboration between the ICRF Thirst-Quenchers team, government entities, community members, and volunteers exemplifies a unified approach towards addressing the needs of workers during the summer months. By working together to distribute essential items and raise awareness about the importance of staying hydrated and safe in extreme weather conditions, the program highlights the significance of community-driven initiatives in ensuring the welfare of vulnerable populations. Through continued support and participation from various stakeholders, the program can make a meaningful impact on the lives of workers in Bahrain, promoting a culture of care and solidarity within the community.

The consistent support and involvement of organizations such as the Bohra community and BCICAI’s CSR team demonstrate the strong commitment to social responsibility and community service. By actively participating in initiatives like the ICRF Thirst Quenchers program, these organizations showcase their dedication to making a positive impact and contributing to the well-being of those in need. Their continued engagement in such programs reinforces the importance of corporate social responsibility and the significant role that businesses and community groups can play in supporting humanitarian causes and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for individuals in society.

In conclusion, the ICRF Thirst Quenchers 2024 program serves as a commendable effort to provide essential support and assistance to workers in Bahrain during the challenging summer months. Through the distribution of water, juice, and fruits, along with the involvement of government officials, community members, and volunteers, the program highlights the importance of collaboration and community-driven initiatives in promoting health and safety. By continuing to engage in such initiatives and garnering the support of various stakeholders, the program can make a meaningful impact on the well-being of workers and contribute to creating a more caring and supportive community environment in Bahrain.
