The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has allocated over SR900 million in the second quarter of 2024 to support employment for Saudi jobseekers through its ‘Tawteen’ program. This program offers various incentives such as wage support, training, individual sustainability, and facility sustainability incentives. Since its launch, the program has provided jobs for around 14,000 Saudi citizens, totaling 172,000 jobs generated. In the first half of 2024 alone, more than 38,000 Saudis were employed through the program, surpassing over 88 percent of the target for the year.

The Tawteen program aims to enhance the skills and sustainability of Saudi employees in the labor market. It has provided training for 10,000 male and female employees, with a goal of reaching 20,000 employees through qualitative and specialized training. Additionally, the program focuses on training over 30,000 Saudis in various technical tracks to improve national competencies in the labor market and reduce unemployment rates. The ultimate objective is to achieve the goals of the national employment plan in both public and private sectors.

In addition to providing jobs, the Ministry has implemented regulatory operations on localized activities, resulting in 9,712 quality opportunities in fields such as dentistry, pharmacy, health professions, medical devices, engineering, communications, information technology, marketing, purchasing, sales, and accounting. These efforts are aimed at reducing unemployment rates, increasing citizens’ participation in the labor market, and achieving localization rates for localized activities.

The Tawteen program is a key initiative by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to assist Saudi jobseekers who have not previously entered the labor market or have faced unemployment in the private sector. By offering a range of incentives and training opportunities, the program aims to support the employment of Saudi citizens, improve their skills, and increase their participation in the workforce. With a strong focus on localized activities and regulatory operations, the ministry is working towards reducing unemployment rates and achieving real localization rates in various sectors.

Through the Tawteen program, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has made significant investments in supporting Saudi jobseekers and providing them with employment opportunities. By offering incentives, training, and specialized programs, the program has successfully generated over 172,000 jobs since its launch. With a focus on enhancing national competencies and reducing unemployment rates, the ministry is committed to achieving the goals of the national employment plan and ensuring the sustainability of Saudi employees in the labor market.

In conclusion, the Tawteen program has played a vital role in supporting Saudi citizens in finding employment opportunities and enhancing their skills in the labor market. With investments exceeding SR900 million in the second quarter of 2024, the ministry has demonstrated its commitment to addressing unemployment and increasing citizens’ participation in the workforce. By implementing regulatory operations and providing training in various fields, the program aims to achieve sustainable employment for Saudi jobseekers and contribute to the overall economic growth of the country.
