In the academic year 2023/2024, the number of male and female students in Duqm has surpassed 1,740, a notable increase of 47.3 percent from the academic year 2018/2019. The Acting CEO of the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Akaak, expressed the zone’s eagerness to attract more investments in the education sector to support the ongoing projects.
Duqm currently boasts 8 schools, comprising of 6 government schools and 2 private institutions – Al Saad International School and the Indian School in Duqm. Additionally, there are several kindergartens catering to the pre-school stage. Al Saad International School has seen an enrollment of over 200 students from diverse nationalities, while the Indian School has 52 students representing 5 different nationalities. The Indian School, affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India, was established to cater to the increasing number of Indian families settling in Duqm and aims to provide a comprehensive educational experience from kindergarten to primary school, with plans for further expansion in the future.
