The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) recently organized an introductory meeting for students who have been awarded scholarships to Qatar University and other national universities for the academic year 2024/2025. The purpose of the meeting was to provide guidance, advice, and tips to ensure that students make the most of their scholarship experience. Dr. Hareb Al Jabri, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Affairs at the Ministry, stressed the importance of developing both personal and academic skills during the study period, and encouraged students to enjoy their academic journey. He also advised students to visit the university library for in-depth reading in their fields of study, drawing on his own experiences of academic success to motivate and inspire the scholarship recipients.

During the meeting, Noura Al Ansari, Acting Director of the Scholarships Department at the Ministry, emphasized the importance of introducing students to the scholarship officials who will provide necessary support throughout their study period. She explained the students’ rights and responsibilities, addressed their inquiries, and highlighted the role of the Scholarships Department in offering guidance to help students maximize the opportunities available to them. Aisha Al Muhannadi, Director of the Scholarship Program for Education City Universities at the Ministry, discussed the procedures for activating the scholarship. This includes reading and signing the contract terms by the student, as well as the academic monitoring process carried out by the department to track students’ performance. She also shed light on the financial procedures related to internal scholarships, such as monthly stipends, scholarship allowances, and student exchange programs for the academic year 2024-25.

In addition to the meeting for students receiving scholarships to Qatar University and other national universities, the Ministry also held a similar meeting last week for Qatari students who received scholarships to Education City universities and universities in the United States and Canada for the academic year 2024-25. These meetings are crucial in providing students with the necessary information and support to succeed in their academic endeavors and make the most of their scholarship opportunities. By offering guidance, advice, and tips, the Ministry aims to ensure that students are well-equipped to excel academically and personally during their study period.

The Ministry’s focus on supporting scholarship recipients extends beyond just financial assistance. By emphasizing the importance of developing personal and academic skills, providing guidance on utilizing university resources like the library, and offering support and monitoring throughout the study period, the Ministry is working to create a holistic and comprehensive educational experience for students. This proactive approach to scholarship management not only benefits the individual students but also contributes to the overall success and reputation of Qatar’s education system.

In conclusion, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s efforts to empower scholarship students through guidance, advice, and support are essential in ensuring their academic and personal success. By providing students with the tools and resources they need to excel in their studies, the Ministry is helping to cultivate a new generation of educated and skilled individuals who will contribute to Qatar’s continued growth and development. Through programs like scholarship meetings and ongoing support, the Ministry is making a significant investment in the future of the country, one student at a time.
