The Conclusion of Lekhwiya’s Ashbal Summer Camp

The summer camp “Lekhwiya’s Ashbal” recently concluded under the patronage of the Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force H E Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. The camp, which took place from August 4 to 22, was organized by Lekhwiya in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA). The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of several high-ranking officials including the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Minister of Education and Higher Education, Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs.

During the closing ceremony, the young participants of “Lekhwiya’s Ashbal” showcased their professional skills and efficiency that they had acquired throughout the 90-hour training programme. The training included various activities such as military training, physical fitness, self-defence, first aid, horse riding, swimming, mountain climbing, riot control, storming and hostage rescue, shooting, hurdle jumping, skydiving, and religious, cultural, awareness and health lectures. The aim of the summer camp was to instil values of loyalty, belonging, sacrifice, and love of the homeland in the participants while familiarizing them with the tasks and duties of Lekhwiya in maintaining Qatar’s security.

The participants of “Lekhwiya’s Ashbal” presented a display of focused planning and professionalism in their training. The summer camp not only provided physical training but also aimed to educate the participants about the important role of Lekhwiya in ensuring Qatar’s security. The camp included tours of Lekhwiya’s fields and facilities, giving the participants a hands-on experience of the work carried out by the security force. The camp also included religious, cultural, awareness, and health lectures to provide a holistic educational experience to the participants.

The presence of high-ranking officials and officers from the Ministry of Interior and Lekhwiya at the closing ceremony highlights the importance and significance of the summer camp. The camp aimed to not only provide physical training but also to instil important values and principles in the participants. By familiarizing the participants with the tasks and duties of Lekhwiya, the camp aimed to raise awareness about the security challenges faced by Qatar and the role of security forces in addressing them.
