A Czech-based choir, Sonjasnyk, is using their performances, CDs, and Ukraine-themed gadgets to raise funds to buy essential medical kits for Ukrainian soldiers on the frontline. The group, which was founded in the wake of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, is made up of both locals and Ukrainians. The choir’s goal is to support their homeland from abroad and bring hope for victory in the midst of the ongoing war.

The choir’s latest Compact Disc, “Still a Little While, Ukraine Hold Still a Little While”, has helped them raise over 2 million Czech crowns, the equivalent of about €80,000. This money is being used to purchase medical kits and strapping for the soldiers fighting on the frontlines in Ukraine. In addition to their music sales, the choir also offers Ukraine-themed t-shirts and gadgets to further support their cause. Ukrainian choir member Iryna Daineka expressed her joy in being able to contribute to their homeland from abroad and how every sale brings them one step closer to victory.

The members of Sonjasnyk are passionate about their mission to support the Ukrainian soldiers fighting in Kursk and other battlegrounds. Singer and composer Pavel Helan stated that the choir’s primary objective is to help for as long as necessary until the war comes to an end. The choir believes that their efforts, no matter how small, can make a significant impact on the lives of the soldiers on the frontline. By selling merchandise and performing their music, they hope to continue raising funds to provide much-needed medical supplies to those in need.

The group’s name, Sonjasnyk, meaning “sunflower”, reflects the choir’s commitment to bringing light and hope to the war-stricken country of Ukraine. Through their music and merchandise sales, Sonjasnyk aims to keep the spirit of unity and resilience alive among the Ukrainian people. The choir’s dedication to supporting their homeland from afar has not only brought them closer together as a group but has also inspired others to join in their mission. By wearing Ukraine-themed t-shirts and purchasing their CDs, supporters can make a tangible contribution to the ongoing relief efforts for Ukrainian soldiers.

The impact of Sonjasnyk’s fundraising efforts goes beyond just providing medical kits for Ukrainian soldiers. The choir’s initiative has also served as a beacon of hope for the people of Ukraine, reminding them that they are not alone in their fight for freedom and independence. The support from both locals and Ukrainians has strengthened the choir’s resolve to continue their mission until the war is over. With the help of their music and merchandise sales, Sonjasnyk is making a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by the conflict in Ukraine.

In conclusion, Sonjasnyk’s dedication to supporting Ukrainian soldiers on the frontline through their performances, CDs, and merchandise sales is a testament to the power of music and unity in times of crisis. By raising funds to purchase medical kits and strapping for the soldiers, the choir is making a real difference in the lives of those risking their lives for their country. The support from both locals and Ukrainians has allowed Sonjasnyk to raise over 2 million Czech crowns, showing the impact that a small group of individuals can have when they come together for a common cause. As the choir continues to spread light and hope through their music, they are bringing the people of Ukraine one step closer to victory in their fight for freedom.
