The Indian Ladies Association (ILA) in Bahrain has announced the launch of its annual classes for basic communication skills in spoken English designed for low-income adults of all nationalities. The course, starting on September 6th, aims to help individuals who cannot afford expensive training institutions to improve their English language skills. Skilled teachers will be volunteering their time to teach the classes, focusing on basic spoken English, communication, social skills, and etiquette. The main goal of the project is to empower participants with essential communication skills that can enhance their professional and social interactions.

The classes will run for two months, with sessions held twice a week. At the end of the course, students will receive a certificate during a grand finale event attended by dignitaries, where they can showcase their newfound skills. The course coordinators, Dr. Ruby Thomas and Nisha Maroli, are part of ILA’s SpeakEasy subcommittee dedicated to community outreach projects. Eligible participants must have at least a high school graduation qualification to join the program. A nominal fee of BD10 is charged to enroll in the course, with ILA offering sponsorship support for those unable to afford the fee.

Interested individuals can pick up application forms at various locations in Bahrain, including Malabar Biryani House in Salmaniya, Vrindavan Restaurant in Manama, Mysore Bhavan, Sangeetha Restaurant, Citymart SuperMarket, Hoora. Selected applicants will be invited for an interview at the ILA premises to assess their suitability for the course. Additionally, online registration is available through a Google form link provided by ILA for easy access to interested participants. The initiative aims to provide a platform for personal development and empowerment through language skills enhancement, allowing participants to become more effective in their personal and professional lives.

ILA’s annual communication skills classes offer a valuable opportunity for individuals in Bahrain to improve their English language proficiency in a supportive and affordable environment. The organization’s commitment to community outreach is evident through initiatives like these, which aim to make essential skills accessible to all residents, regardless of their financial circumstances. By offering a comprehensive curriculum that covers various aspects of communication, ILA hopes to equip participants with the tools they need to succeed in the workplace and in their social interactions. Through the dedication of volunteers and coordinators, the program promises to provide a transformative learning experience for all participants.

The course not only focuses on teaching basic spoken English but also emphasizes the importance of effective communication and social etiquette. Participants will have the opportunity to practice their skills in a supportive setting and receive guidance from experienced teachers. The certificate ceremony at the end of the course serves as a celebration of participants’ achievements and a demonstration of the impact of the program on their lives. By promoting inclusivity and accessibility, ILA’s initiative aligns with the organization’s mission to empower individuals through education and skill development, regardless of their background or financial means.

In conclusion, ILA’s annual communication skills classes in Bahrain represent a significant opportunity for individuals to enhance their English language proficiency and improve their communication abilities. The program’s focus on empowering low-income adults with essential skills through affordable and accessible training underscores the organization’s commitment to community service and outreach. By offering a comprehensive curriculum and support for participants, ILA aims to create a platform for personal growth and development, enabling individuals to thrive in their personal and professional lives. Through the dedication of volunteers and coordinators, the program exemplifies the impact that education and skill development can have on individuals and communities, fostering a culture of lifelong learning and empowerment.
