The Crown Prince and Prime Minister meets with the Chairperson of NBB

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, recently met with the Chairperson of the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB), Hala Yateem, at the Gudaibiya Palace. During the meeting, HRH the Crown Prince emphasized the Kingdom’s dedication to enhancing the performance of the financial and banking sector in support of overall development initiatives led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He also acknowledged the significant contributions of national banking experts in boosting the sector and attracting investments to Bahrain.

Chairperson Yateem was congratulated by His Royal Highness for being elected as the first woman to hold the position of Chairperson of the Board of Directors of NBB since its establishment. Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his wishes for her success in carrying out her duties and acknowledged the important role that Bahraini women play across various sectors, including the financial and banking industries. He also recognized the efforts and initiatives of local banks in advancing the Kingdom’s competitiveness in line with national development goals.

In response, Chairperson Yateem expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to meet with His Royal Highness and highlighted his commitment to supporting Bahrain’s financial and banking sector in alignment with the country’s economic aspirations. She also extended her appreciation for the congratulations received from HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, recognizing the unwavering support provided to Bahraini citizens that enable them to excel in all sectors. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and the Chief Executive of the Bahrain Economic Development Board, Khalid Ebrahim Humaidan.

The positive interaction between His Royal Highness, the Chairperson of NBB, and other key officials underscores the government’s dedication to promoting growth and innovation in Bahrain’s financial and banking sector.
