Nizwa Industrial City, under the oversight of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), has seen significant growth in the first half of 2024. With a total investment volume reaching OMR474 million, the industrial city has successfully localized four new projects worth over OMR5.5 million on an area of 67,000 sqm. The total number of projects in Nizwa Industrial City has reached 173, with a workforce of 5,707 employees and an Omanisation rate of 45 percent.

Salah bin Nasser Al Alawi, Acting Director General of Nizwa Industrial City, highlighted the ongoing expansions and developments within the industrial city. The completion of key projects, such as the expansion of Phases 3 and 4 on a one million sqm area, and the preparation of the master plan for Phase 5 covering 4.1 million sqm, are expected to further enhance the industrial capabilities of Nizwa Industrial City. Additionally, the development of the Madayn Entrepreneurial Complex on an 11,000 sqm area is set to provide 10 industrial workshops tailored for SMEs.

Furthermore, ongoing projects within Nizwa Industrial City include the master plan for a residential project spanning 78,000 sqm, aimed at providing additional investment opportunities. Environmental sustainability projects, such as planting over 600 trees in phases 3 and 4, are also underway. The recent leasing of a 34,000-sqm commercial area at the city’s entrance to an investor will provide services to local companies, employees, and nearby residential areas.

Al Alawi emphasized the diverse range of industries present in Nizwa Industrial City, including food industries, construction materials, glass, wood, steel, and oil and gas companies involved in equipment maintenance. The industrial city is also home to various SMEs providing services to the factories and employees. Looking ahead, Nizwa Industrial City is preparing for the inauguration of key industrial projects, such as a specialized medical solutions factory currently under construction, which will enhance health security in Oman.

With the completion of ongoing projects and the development of new initiatives, Nizwa Industrial City is poised for continued growth and expansion. The city’s strategic location, combined with its diverse range of industries and ongoing infrastructure developments, positions it as a key hub for industrial activities in Oman. The collaboration between Madayn and other entities, such as the SMEs Development Authority, will further support the growth of SMEs within the industrial city and contribute to its overall success.

In conclusion, the progress and achievements of Nizwa Industrial City in the first half of 2024 reflect a strong commitment to industrial development and economic growth in Oman. The completion of key projects, ongoing expansions, and the focus on environmental sustainability demonstrate the city’s dedication to sustainable industrial practices. With a strong foundation in place and a pipeline of upcoming projects, Nizwa Industrial City is well-positioned to continue its growth trajectory and contribute significantly to the industrial landscape of Oman.
