Rayhan Thomas, a 24-year-old professional golfer, recently won his first professional title at the KGiSL Presents Coimbatore Open in India. He credited the exceptional golfing facilities in Dubai as a major contributor to his success in the tournament. Rayhan expressed gratitude towards his uncle, who served as his caddie during the Professional Golf Tour of India, emphasizing the role of his college golf experience in the United States in preparing him for professional level competition.

Growing up in Dubai, Rayhan had access to top-tier golf courses that helped him develop his skills and lay a strong foundation for his career. His journey in golf is a tale of perseverance and success, from his early victories as an amateur to his recent triumph on the professional circuit. His remarkable achievements against seasoned professionals showcase his talent and potential in the sport.

Rayhan’s journey began with a gift from his aunt to join the CHIII Performance Golf Academy in Dubai, setting him on a path to success. Throughout his amateur career, he represented Dubai Creek in various victories and made history by becoming the first amateur to win on the MENA Tour at the age of 16. He continued to impress with wins at prestigious events, demonstrating his prowess on the golf course.

With a golf scholarship at Oklahoma State University, Rayhan further honed his skills and transitioned into a professional career. His recent win at the Coimbatore Open marks a significant milestone in his journey, earning him recognition and invites to play in international tournaments. Rayhan’s father, John, expressed pride in his son’s achievements and highlighted Rayhan’s character and resilience in overcoming challenges.

Rayhan’s win at the Coimbatore Open is a significant career milestone, marking his first victory on a professional tour and earning him a status on the PGTI. He joins a select group of winners on the professional circuit, solidifying his position as a rising star in the golfing world. With increased Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points and a winner’s cheque, Rayhan’s future in professional golf looks promising, with a schedule of upcoming tournaments and events to be decided in consultation with his management team.
