Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb is facing a setback in his career after breaking his leg in training, according to manager Pep Guardiola. The 21-year-old Norway international is set to undergo surgery and will be out of action for an estimated three-to-four months. Guardiola expressed his sadness for the young player, who was expected to play a key role in the team’s upcoming matches.

Despite Bobb’s injury, Manchester City is gearing up for their Premier League opener against Chelsea on Sunday. Bobb had showcased his talent during the preseason tour of the United States and played a significant role in City’s victory over Manchester United in the Community Shield. Guardiola praised Bobb’s performance but acknowledged the challenges that come with long-term injuries in football.

In addition to Bobb’s injury, Guardiola revealed that defensive midfielder Rodri will not be available for the Chelsea match due to a late return to preseason training after the European Championship. Guardiola also mentioned that midfielder Kalvin Phillips was on the verge of joining Ipswich on loan, indicating that City is making adjustments to their squad ahead of the new season.

The news of Bobb’s injury comes as a blow to Manchester City, who were hoping for a strong start to the season with him on the right wing. Guardiola emphasized the importance of player health and expressed his concern for Bobb’s well-being as he undergoes surgery and begins the recovery process. Despite the setback, City remains focused on their upcoming matches, including the highly-anticipated clash with Chelsea.

As City prepares for their Premier League campaign, Guardiola is faced with the task of reshuffling his squad and making strategic decisions to cope with Bobb’s absence. The team will need to rely on other players to step up and fill the void left by the injured winger. Guardiola’s experience and tactical expertise will be crucial in guiding the team through this challenging period and maintaining a competitive edge in the league.

In the midst of Bobb’s injury setback, Manchester City is determined to stay focused and set their sights on achieving success in the Premier League. Guardiola’s leadership will be vital in guiding the team through this adversity and navigating the challenges that lie ahead. With strong teamwork and a resilient mindset, City is poised to overcome obstacles and continue their pursuit of glory in one of the most competitive football leagues in the world.
