The Qatar Media Centre, a Ministry of Culture affiliate, recently concluded a young media professional workshop designed for individuals between the ages of 10 to 16. Conducted by media professional Amal Hikmat, the workshop spanned four days and featured a variety of activities and training sessions that covered theoretical and practical aspects of media. Participants engaged with concepts, fundamentals, and skills necessary for a successful career in media, including voice training, writing and editing skills, handling sources, and developing general knowledge and cultural awareness.

A highlight of the workshop was a field trip to Al Araby TV premises in Lusail, where participants had the opportunity to gain insights into television production processes and witness firsthand the inner workings of a TV station. Iman Al Kaabi, Director of the Qatar Media Centre, commended the collaboration with Al Araby TV, noting that the experience had a profound impact on the participants by enhancing their theoretical knowledge through practical observation. The workshop was well-received by the participants, who appreciated the opportunity to apply their learning in a real-world setting.

Looking ahead, the Qatar Media Centre is set to launch another course as part of its summer program, starting on Monday. This upcoming workshop will focus on human voice types and Arabic phonetics, and will be presented by trainer Ahmad Zarfa. Targeted towards individuals aged 8 to 16, the three-day course aims to further enhance participants’ skills and knowledge in the field of media. With a continued emphasis on practical, hands-on learning opportunities, the Qatar Media Centre is dedicated to providing valuable experiences that contribute to the professional development of young media enthusiasts.

The success of the young media professional workshop underscores the commitment of the Qatar Media Centre to nurturing talent and fostering a passion for media among the youth. By offering a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills training, the centre aims to equip participants with the tools they need to succeed in the industry. The collaboration with Al Araby TV further enriches the learning experience, providing participants with valuable insights and industry-specific knowledge that can help them advance in their media careers.

Iman Al Kaabi’s leadership and vision have played a crucial role in shaping the Qatar Media Centre’s summer program and workshops, ensuring that each session is designed to cater to the unique needs and interests of young media enthusiasts. With a focus on empowering participants and encouraging creativity, the centre continues to be a hub for innovation and professional growth in the field of media. As the centre prepares to launch its upcoming workshop on human voice types and Arabic phonetics, participants can look forward to another engaging and enriching learning experience that will further expand their skills and expertise in the realm of media.

In conclusion, the Qatar Media Centre’s young media professional workshop has proven to be a valuable opportunity for participants to gain hands-on experience and practical skills in the field of media. With a diverse range of activities and training sessions, the workshop has equipped young individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to pursue a career in media. As the centre continues to offer innovative workshops and programs, in collaboration with industry partners like Al Araby TV, it remains at the forefront of media education and professional development in Qatar.
