The Toronto Film Festival has announced the lineup of speakers for its 2024 edition, which will include Cate Blanchett, Zoe Saldana, and Steven Soderbergh. Blanchett will attend with two of her recent projects, Alfonso Cuaron’s TV series Disclaimer and Rumours, which premiered at Cannes. She will receive a Tribute Award and participate in the In Conversation With event. Saldana will be promoting her role in Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Perez, while Soderbergh will showcase Presence, a ghost story starring Lucy Liu and Chris Sullivan.

Additionally, Korean stars Hyun Bin and Lee Dong-Wook will discuss their careers in the Korean film and TV industry and bring their thriller Harbin to the festival for a world premiere. The Visionaries sidebar will feature conversations with Oscar-winner Alfonso Cuaron, animator Pete Docter, Black List founder Franklin Leonard, Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat, and Nobel Prize-winner Malala Yousafzai. The festival will open on September 5 with Nutcrackers, directed by David Gordon Green, and close with The Deb, Rebel Wilson’s directorial debut.

The Toronto Film Festival is scheduled to take place from September 5-15, with a diverse lineup of speakers and films. This year’s edition will feature a mix of established actors and filmmakers alongside emerging talents from around the world. The festival provides a platform for both mainstream and independent cinema, showcasing a variety of genres and styles. With a strong focus on diversity and inclusion, the Toronto Film Festival continues to attract a global audience of film enthusiasts and industry professionals.
