HRH CP & PM lead the Kingdom in welcoming Olympic heroes

Bahrain Achievements at Paris 2024 Olympics Receive High Praise from HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, commended the remarkable achievements of Bahrain’s athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. He highlighted the significant support and interest in the sports sector from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, stating that this royal backing has been a crucial factor in Bahrain’s continued success on the international stage. HRH Prince Salman emphasized the pride felt as Kingdom’s athletes proudly raised the national flag during competitions at the local, regional, and international levels.

During a special reception held at Sakhir Airport, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister welcomed His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, along with the Team Bahrain. The athletes representing Bahrain at the Paris Olympics brought home four Olympic medals, including two golds, one silver, and one bronze. The winning athletes were Winfred Yavi, Ahmed Tajuddin, Salwa Eid Naser, and Gor Minasyan, who excelled in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase, wrestling, women’s 400-metre race, and weightlifting events, respectively.

The event was attended by His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, and other senior officials. HRH Prince Salman congratulated the athletes on their historic success at the Paris Olympics, attributing their achievements to the royal directives and vision for the sports sector in Bahrain. He highlighted that the support from the leadership serves as a powerful incentive for all Bahrainis to excel in sports and continue raising the Kingdom’s standing in international competitions.

HRH Prince Salman praised the members of Team Bahrain for their love of challenge, passion for achievement, and limitless ambition. He expressed pride in their determination to showcase the bright image of the Kingdom and enhance Bahrain’s reputation on various levels. Additionally, he extended his congratulations to all those who supported and encouraged the Bahraini team, both domestically and across the wider Arab world, acknowledging their contributions to the team’s outstanding results and boosting the Arab world’s achievements in Olympic and international competitions.

In response, His Highness Shaikh Khalid expressed gratitude to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his unwavering commitment to the development of sports in Bahrain. He highlighted HRH Prince Salman’s dedication to providing the necessary resources and support to strengthen Bahrain’s position in the global sports arena. The acknowledgment of the leadership’s support and encouragement highlights the importance of the sports sector in Bahrain and the positive impact it has on the country’s reputation worldwide.
