Saudi athletes eliminated from pole vault and shot put qualifiers at Paris 2024 Olympics

Saudi pole vaulter Hussain Al-Hizam and shot putter Mohammed Tolu bid farewell to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after failing to advance in their respective events. Al-Hizam was eliminated in the qualifying round after three unsuccessful attempts to clear a height of 5.40m. The Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee stated that the required height to advance to the final round was 5.80m or being among the top 12 performers, which Al-Hizam did not achieve. Similarly, Tolu failed to meet the qualifying standard of 21.35 meters in the shot put qualifiers. His first attempt reached 20.63 meters, his second was a foul, and his third measured 20.65 meters, placing him 15th out of 31 participants.
