Amnesty seekers in Ajman, UAE, are gearing up for the two-month UAE visa amnesty programme starting on September 1. Officials of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) held a meeting to discuss the implementation plans. Specialized teams were formed to ensure a smooth experience for individuals looking to benefit from this opportunity. Similar meetings took place in Abu Dhabi, where the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) confirmed the use of smart systems and artificial intelligence to simplify procedures in line with UAE’s zero government bureaucracy program.

The Federal Authority for ICP announced that residence visa violators will be given a two-month grace period to waive fines. All necessary measures will be undertaken to implement this initiative, including waiving fines and legal consequences, allowing violators to adjust their status or leave the country with ease. This marks the fourth amnesty programme by the UAE government, with the last one taking place six years ago in 2018 and benefiting a significant number of residents across the country.

In past amnesties, thousands of residence visa violators have benefited from the opportunity to rectify their status or leave the country without penalties. Millions of dirhams in fines were waived during the previous visa amnesty scheme, highlighting the impact and importance of such programs. Prior to the 2018 amnesty programme, Dubai Police had arrested thousands of residency violators, showcasing the need for such initiatives to help individuals in irregular situations. The UAE government has been proactive in providing opportunities for individuals to regularize their status and avoid legal consequences.

The upcoming amnesty programme is expected to provide relief to a new wave of residence visa violators, giving them the chance to resolve their status and avoid penalties. The use of smart systems and artificial intelligence will streamline the process, making it easier for individuals to take advantage of this opportunity. With specialized teams in place to ensure a smooth and effective experience, individuals wishing to benefit from the amnesty can expect support and guidance throughout the process. This initiative aligns with the UAE’s commitment to supporting individuals in need of assistance and promoting a culture of compliance with residency laws.

As the UAE gears up for the two-month visa amnesty programme, residence visa violators have the opportunity to rectify their status and avoid legal consequences. The implementation of smart systems and artificial intelligence will simplify procedures and support individuals in need of assistance. With previous amnesty programmes yielding positive results, the upcoming initiative is expected to benefit a significant number of residents across the country. By providing a grace period for violators to rectify their status, the UAE government continues its commitment to supporting individuals in need and promoting legal compliance within the country.
