Mohammad Yahya is a UAE fighter who made history as the first Emirati to fight in the UFC. He is gearing up for his second bout at the UFC Fight Night in Abu Dhabi this Saturday. In an interview, Yahya shared the sacrifices he had to make to reach the UFC, the world’s premier platform for MMA. He expressed his excitement and readiness for the upcoming fight, highlighting the significance of competing on home turf.

Preparations for an event like UFC Fight Night require rigorous training, with Yahya emphasizing the importance of discipline and consistency in his training schedule. He also discussed the sacrifices involved in pursuing a career in combat sports, highlighting the strict diet he follows and the dedication required to excel in the sport. Despite the challenges, Yahya’s parents have been supportive of his career choice, recognizing the positive impact it has had on him.

As the first Emirati fighter in the UFC, Yahya’s journey serves as an inspiration for young aspiring fighters in the UAE. He encourages them to pursue their dreams with dedication and hard work, emphasizing that success in the sport requires perseverance and commitment. Yahya also acknowledges the growing popularity of MMA in the Arab region and the opportunities it provides for young athletes to showcase their skills on a global stage.

Looking ahead, Yahya’s immediate goal is to secure a victory in his upcoming fight and continue competing in the UFC. He envisions a future filled with back-to-back fights and a streak of wins, focusing on honing his skills and delivering strong performances in each bout. While MMA is his primary passion, Yahya admits that he does not follow other sports closely, finding inspiration and fulfillment in the intense competition and physicality of mixed martial arts.

Despite experiencing a defeat in his first UFC bout, Yahya views setbacks as opportunities for growth and improvement. He remains determined to bounce back stronger, channeling his disappointment into motivation for his upcoming fight. With a focused mindset and a desire to succeed, Yahya is determined to make a mark in the UFC and showcase his fighting skills to a global audience.
