Nada Hafez, the Egyptian fencer, made headlines at the Olympics for not only picking up her first victory in the women’s sabre event but also revealing that she was seven months pregnant while competing. Competing at her third Olympics, Hafez defeated American world number 10 Elizabeth Tartakovsky 15-13 before losing to Jeon Hayoung of South Korea in the round of 16.
