As summer temperatures rise, many indoor fitness activities and programmes are being offered at shopping malls, recreational facilities, and venues like the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) to help community members stay healthy and active. These activities provide a perfect escape from the heat and cater to individuals of all ages looking to engage in physical exercise.

The Abu Dhabi Sports Council is organizing various sports events such as football, cricket, cycling, padel, badminton, basketball, volleyball, tennis, and more at the ADNEC. Community members can also take part in a functional fitness zone, a 1km running track, a cycling zone, an inflatable obstacle course, and health assessments. The Abu Dhabi Summer Sports event is ongoing until August 23 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi and August 25 at ADNEC Centre Al Ain.

The Galleria Al Maryah Island is offering free yoga, Zumba, and walking classes as part of their community fitness programmes. These activities aim to improve fitness levels while creating a sense of community among participants. People can check the mall’s official website for session timings and booking details to join these classes and embrace a healthy lifestyle.

Bawabat Al Sharq Mall in Baniyas is hosting healthy lifestyle programmes, including an indoor ‘Fun Run’ event in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. The Fun Run features a 1km track for beginners and a 3km track for more advanced participants. Trained instructors are leading activities like fencing, exercise, and health awareness sessions to strengthen bonds within families and young individuals.

Hudayriyat Island’s 321 Sports Dome recently held an indoor rowing championship, attracting individuals and teams to showcase their rowing skills using Concept2 rowers. This premier sports and leisure hub offers various activities for all ages throughout July and August, providing a diverse range of options for community members to stay active and engaged. The championship was a highlight event within the region’s largest indoor sports dome.

In conclusion, as summer continues to bring high temperatures, indoor fitness activities and programmes play a crucial role in helping individuals stay healthy and active within the Abu Dhabi community. From sports events and functional fitness zones to free yoga classes and fun runs, these initiatives cater to a diverse range of interests and fitness levels. By participating in these activities, community members can not only improve their physical health but also enjoy a sense of camaraderie and connection with others in the region. Embracing a healthy lifestyle through indoor fitness activities is a great way to beat the summer heat and prioritize overall well-being.
