Breads have been an essential part of the human diet for centuries, coming in various shapes and sizes, with different textures and flavors. However, one particular type of bread, Korean tissue bread, recently broke the internet due to its unique appearance and taste. Made of many layers of thin dough, each slice resembling a torn piece of paper, Korean tissue bread gained popularity on social media earlier this year.
Although previously only available in places like South Korea, Korean tissue bread can now be found in Dubai at Yamanote Atelier, a popular bakery known for its Japanese-inspired pastries. The bread is made fresh at the brand’s flagship store and is sold across its branches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Served with three delicious dips – honey butter, chocolate sauce, and strawberry jam – the tissue bread has become a favorite among customers, causing a stir with its photogenic presentation.
Dubai-based blogger Haya Kaabar, also known as thedubailist, shared her positive experience with Korean tissue bread, praising the honey butter dip as her favorite. She had read about the bread online and was excited to try it after seeing it on social media platforms like Instagram reels and TikTok. Digital creator Uroosa Khanl also expressed her love for the bread, highlighting the honey butter dip as her personal favorite.
The process of making Korean tissue bread is unlike that of ordinary loaves, requiring more precision and accuracy due to the delicate layers of bread meticulously stacked to form a single loaf. The bread that broke the internet originally came from Truffle Bakery in Seoul, where it is sculpted to perfection. Tear, dip, eat, repeat – this seems to be the recipe for a delicious afternoon indulgence with Korean tissue bread, which has captured the hearts of food enthusiasts around the world.
