Muscat Municipality signs agreement to create a new modern park

Muscat Municipality recently signed an agreement with Saud bin Hilal Al Sabri LLC to lease municipal land in the Al Mawaleh South area in Seeb to establish a unique park and the Diwaniya Omani Sweets Factory. The agreement allows Saud bin Hilal Al Sabri LLC to lease a plot covering 31,182 square meters for 20 years to create a public park with various facilities such as walking and cycling paths, children’s play areas, sports courts, and event spaces. The park will also have kiosks, cafes, restrooms, parking, and prayer areas. Additionally, a section of the project will be reserved for the Diwaniya Omani Sweets Factory, featuring a visitor experience center where guests can learn about traditional Omani sweets manufacturing.

Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Humaidi, Chairman of Muscat Municipality, expressed the Municipality’s commitment to using its assets for the benefit of the community, focusing on societal impact rather than direct profits. The partnership with Saud bin Hilal Al Sabri LLC is seen as a model for purposeful collaboration between the public and private sectors. Al-Humaidi highlighted the Municipality’s efforts in social responsibility, job creation, local value addition, and economic and social development through initiatives like this agreement. This partnership aims to create job opportunities, maximize local value addition, and contribute to economic and social development goals.

Muscat Municipality aims to enhance cooperation between the public and private sectors and engage with local community entities to develop projects and initiatives that promote sustainable growth. The Municipality is dedicated to providing essential resources related to urban planning, tourism, economic growth, and improving the quality of life for residents, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040. By creating partnerships like the one with Saud bin Hilal Al Sabri LLC, Muscat Municipality seeks to stimulate development, boost the economy, and enhance the overall well-being of residents in the region.

The agreement between Muscat Municipality and Saud bin Hilal Al Sabri LLC for the establishment of a park and the Diwaniya Omani Sweets Factory reflects a commitment to social responsibility and sustainable development.
