Airbus recently announced that Air India has placed an order for a total of 250 aircraft, with 210 of them being A320s and 40 being A350 wide-body aircraft. Air India has already received six of the A350s, with the rest set to be delivered over the next few years. IndiGo has also placed a significant order for over 1000 aircraft, including 30 state-of-the-art A350 planes. These orders highlight the demand for the A350, known for its operational flexibility and efficiency, making it a preferred choice for long-haul flights.

The Airbus A350 is celebrated for its advanced design and efficiency, with a state-of-the-art “Airspace” cabin that enhances passenger comfort. The aircraft features modern in-flight products and offers a 25% reduction in carbon emissions compared to previous-generation aircraft, aligning with global sustainability goals. With 1,309 orders from 61 customers worldwide, including both passenger and freighter variants, the A350 Family has seen significant market traction. Airbus has already delivered 606 A350s to 40 operators, with a backlog of 703 aircraft to be produced in the coming years.

To meet the growing demand for the A350, Airbus is planning to ramp up production in the coming years. Currently producing six A350 aircraft per month, the company aims to double its production rate to 12 aircraft per month by 2028. This increase in production capacity is essential to ensure that the supply aligns with market requirements and to meet the airlines’ strategic growth plans. The Final Assembly Line for the A350, located in Toulouse, France, involves a 9-stage process to complete each aircraft, reflecting the precision and expertise required in the production of these modern wide-body aircraft.

The A350 Family is recognised as the world’s most modern and efficient wide-body aircraft, featuring advanced technologies and aerodynamics that set it apart in the 300-410 seater category. Air India’s commitment to around 210 narrow-body aircraft, in addition to the wide-body A350s, reflects the airline’s strategy to enhance its domestic and international operations. IndiGo’s order for over 1000 aircraft, including the A350s, represents a significant expansion of its fleet, aligning with its strategic growth plans.

Overall, Airbus’s latest figures highlight the strong demand for the A350, as airlines like Air India and IndiGo place substantial orders for both narrow-body and wide-body aircraft. The A350’s advanced design, efficiency, and environmentally friendly features make it a preferred choice for long-haul flights and align with global sustainability goals. With Airbus planning to double its production rate for the A350, the company is poised to meet the growing demand and ensure that supply aligns with market requirements in the coming years.
